John M. Davis, Associate Professor
The Davis lab works on tree functional genomics, to understand how genes function to create phenotypes, or traits. Our group works at the interface of fundamental and applied research. Our research must be sufficiently fundamental to be competitive for extramural research funding, however our role within a land-grant university is to promote the application of our research to benefit society. We collaborate with scientists in other disciplines as well as scientists in the forest products industry through the Forest Biology Research Cooperative (see “Projects”).
